Lausanne Tourism Signs Agreements with Leading Travel Solutions Providers, Kanoo Travel and Dnata

Lausanne Tourism is the newest destination to sign two cooperation agreements with Kanoo Travel and Dnata. The agreement includes the representation and promotion of the destination’s touristic opportunities, and travel packages within the GCC region.

This partnership with Kanoo Travel and Dnata makes it possible for Lausanne to reach millions of persons residing across the GCC region, through effective marketing strategies and online tools. With so many world-class events scheduled for 2019 in this vibrant city, and the addition of a versatile variety of sights and activities, makes it the right time to gain exposure through these landmark collaborations.

The Director of GCC Markets at Lausanne Tourism, Walter Loser confirmed the agreements in a statement to the press, delivered during a promotional tour headlined by the Swiss Tourism Authority. As part of the tour, the delegation visited the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. He added that his meetings held in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah were met with tremendous success and expects to see a resulting boost in tourism for the Swiss city in the upcoming year.

Most noteworthy, Loser pointed out the importance of the GCC market adding that it was one of the most crucial sectors for Lausanne Tourism. He stated that last year alone, there was a 15% increase in the number of tourists visiting from the region and expects it to increase following the signing of these agreements and from the influx of  targeted, family friendly packages.

Loser commented, “We expect a significant rise in the number of tourists from the GCC region, especially considering that the Holy Month of Ramadan falls early this year in May. This coincides with summer in Lausanne, also the most idyllic time to visit the city considering the pleasant temperatures and the bustling streets teeming with activities and programs perfect for those across all age groups.”

The Lausanne delegation had the opportunity to meet with more than 180 travel agents and tour operators to discuss multiple strategies for tourism packages crafted with the GCC family in mind. The tour started in Dubai, and took them across Ras Al Khaimah, Oman, Jeddah and Riyadh.
