Reinventing Timeless Elegance

Drawing inspiration from the Bedouin way of life, Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa is the region’s first resort encapsulating the history of Dubai, traditional influences, along with the heritage and culture of the desert environment.

Al Maha was the fruition of ideas from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. A firm supporter of conservation and a fierce protector of the desert tradition. The desert resort is located within the 225 sq km Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) that is managed by the Dubai Conservation Board, under the Chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Ideally located within the DDRC, Al Maha allows guests to delve into the world of Arabian wildlife with frequent sightings of the over 136 recognised bird species, Arabian Oryx and Gazelles that freely roam around the resort. Guests at Al Maha experience the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Arabian Desert through a host of activities ranging from camel treks, falconry, horse riding, archery, dune driving, guided nature walks, the unique Ghaf tree walk and wildlife safaris. The pristine and protected environment is truly unique, the result of great teamwork and collaboration between Al Maha Desert Resort and the DDCR management.

With an aim to enhance the guest experience, Al Maha’s senior management worked closely with Emirates Airline’s Facilities Design team for the extensive property-wide renovation, focused mainly on refurbishing the luxurious timeless desert resort suites. Being an eco-friendly resort and committed towards conserving the desert ecosystem, the upgrades in the 42 private suites have been carefully executed keeping Al Maha's original Bedouin style architecture, atmosphere and natural surroundings in mind.

In-suite renovations include refurbishing of the beautiful hand-crafted furniture, with new fabrics and drapery, providing a fresh new look and feel to the suites. Sleek bronze bathroom fittings, improved dedicated ladies’ vanity counters, and new anti-slip bathroom tiles all add to an enhanced experience. Subtle improvements like new lighting designs, bedside reading lights, additional USB ports and power sockets adds to the overall level of comfort. The all-new wooden pool decks, pool tiles, refurbished outdoor terrace furniture, poolside landscaping and new external tented canopies further add to the luxury experience.

Apart from enjoying a luxury stay at Al Maha’s 42 Bedouin-style private suites, visitors and guests can experience world-class hospitality with several Day Packages, including the Pool Package which includes a three course a la carte lunch, access to the main swimming pool and the Timeless Spa facilities. The Spa Indulgence Package includes full day access, lunch and any 60 minute relaxing and rejuvenating treatment of choice. For more adventurous guests, the resort offers activities, ranging from wildlife drives, archery, dune driving, equestrian experiences and camel trekking.

“At Al Maha, our major focus is enhancing our guests’ experience. The extensive in-suite and external upgrades have been executed to highlight the resort’s architectural language, whilst simultaneously providing guests with an unrivalled opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the unique desert environment. We are confident that our guests will enjoy the impressive aesthetics and sleek upgrades while enjoying the unique attractions at Al Maha,” says Arne Silvis, General Manager.
