Final Call for Incredible Impacts Grant Programme Submissions

Following its launch at IMEX Frankfurt in May, ICCA and BestCities Incredible Impacts Grant Programme is nearing its final call, as submission for entries closes in just over two weeks. So far, entries have been received from a broad range of associations across the globe.

Developed to help associations make tangible progress in creating meaningful legacy programmes for their international meetings, Incredible Impacts will showcase powerful examples of good practice within the industry, demonstrating the true value of meetings. The winning three associations will be awarded with a grant of US $7,500 each that could be used towards future legacy projects.

Those interested in applying for the grant must simply demonstrate a track-record in “beyond tourism” or legacy programme/project related to their international meetings. They must also consider how they will use the grant to better upcoming or future events.

Paul Vallee, Managing Director of BestCities said: “The submissions we’ve received so far have truly proven the evolution and dedication to creating more meaningful events. The industry is evolving at a quick pace and its inspiring to see just how many associations are keeping up to deliver fantastic meetings that beyond traditional planning.

“We’ve seen a diverse range of projects and programmes come through for consideration for the grant and we’re excited to what else may come through in the final few weeks. It’s important to remember that we’re looking for really great examples as opposed to the best example so everyone has a chance to shine.”

ICCA CEO Martin Sirk stated: “I’ve long believed that the impacts international association meetings can make are truly incredible: on destinations, on individuals, on society at large.  What we’re trying to achieve with this programme is quite simple: we want to share amazing examples that will inspire other associations to create their own impactful projects, and for policymakers and politicians to understand how these meetings change the world for the better.”

An independent jury will determine which three associations which will be announced at the ICCA Congress in November 2017. Associations interested in applying can nominate themselves or candidate associations can be nominated by any ICCA member. Nominations must be submitted before 16 September and can be sent to ICCA’s Director of Association Relations Mrs. Ksenija Polla by email: ksenija.p@iccaworld.org.
